Who we are
Tabs is an iPhone app for logging and rating energy drinks and estimating caffeine levels. It is operated by Jake Egizio in Pennsylvania, USA ("Tabs," "we," "us"). Questions about this policy go to support@downloadtabs.com.
What we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us a unique account identifier and an email address. If you choose "Hide My Email," that address is a private relay address created by Apple. If you choose to share your name, we store that too.
What you log. The drinks you record, the time you logged them, their caffeine amounts, your ratings, any notes you write, and your settings such as bedtime and sleep line. Caffeine entries can include coffee, tea, soda, and other drinks you add.
Usage information. Basic events about how the app is used, such as opening the app, logging a drink, submitting a rating, or sharing a card, along with your device model, iOS version, and app version. We use this to understand which features work and to fix problems.
Drink requests. If you request that a drink be added, we receive the details you submit.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or payment information.
How we use it
- To run the app: save your diary, calculate your caffeine clock, and keep your account working across devices.
- To build the leaderboard from everyone's ratings.
- To improve Tabs, fix bugs, and decide what to build next.
- To respond when you contact support.
What other people can see
Your individual logs, ratings, notes, and caffeine history are private. The public leaderboard shows only averages combined from many users' ratings. Share cards are created only when you choose to share one, and they show only what appears on the card.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that host our database, run sign-in, and provide app analytics. They process data only to provide those services to us.
- Aggregated statistics. We may publish or share combined, de-identified statistics, such as a drink's average rating or how many people have logged it, including with beverage brands. These statistics do not identify you.
- Legal reasons. If required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
- A change of ownership. If Tabs is sold or merged, user data may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
Caffeine estimates
The caffeine clock and sleep line are estimates based on general averages. They are not medical advice and do not account for individual differences. Talk to a doctor about any health questions.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account is active. To delete your account and everything in it, open the app and go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You can also email support@downloadtabs.com from the address on your account. Deletion is completed within 30 days. Aggregated statistics that no longer identify you may remain.
Children
Tabs is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure.
Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your logs in the app, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to know how it is used. Email support@downloadtabs.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will also let you know in the app.
